WORT 89.9 FM has long aspired to represent the whole community in all of its diversity. Unfortunately with only so many hours aday, many people propose music and spoken programming of merit that we cannot accomodate. With the return of the Access Hour,WORT hopes to open its doors to everyone who has some music to share or a story to tell.
The show airs Mondays from 7-8 p.m. and features different community groups, musicians, and aspiring D.J.s. The Access Hour will provide an avenue to experiment with radio in a flexible format.
The Access Hour can only succeed with your help, though. Do you like a certain genre of music that never gets played on the radio? Does your social organization want an hour to present information to the public? Do you play music or read poetry at Open Mics?
